JargonFish is a free, customizable in-text search widget that publishers or bloggers can add their Websites. JargonFish adds depth and value to their content, improves the stickiness of their Website and can even improve their bottom line through additional advertising revenue. As a fully customizable widget, publishers can modify both the design and the content of JargonFish to maximize its effectiveness for their audience and seamlessly integrate it into their site.
When JargonFish is installed on a Website or blog, it scans the contents of a page and highlights pre-selected keywords or phrases. When visitors click on those uniquely highlighted words, JargonFish is launched in a small window that is displayed above the page. JargonFish contains a variety of tools that provide visitors with additional information related to that specific keyword (example: Yahoo! search results, related Amazon products, YouTube videos, Technorati blog search results, as well as custom tools). These tools are selected or created by the publisher during the setup process and added to their JargonFish Widget that they design specifically for their site.
Publishers and bloggers can earn additional advertising revenue by simply selecting the ‘Display Advertising’ option. Selecting this option will display a 234x60 banner ad to the bottom of the JargonFish window. This banner space is managed by JargonFish and is sold on a cpm basis. Revenue generated from this ad will be split between JargonFish and the publisher or blogger Website.
